<-- 19 available countries supported by the WindTrack platform and growing monthly.

Each country is further divided by regions (in the US, they are States) so you can find your airports/cities faster.

<--- A new feature is the ability to display arc information. Or as most sailboat racers would say, wind shifts There are two types of wind shifts Variable Arc information and an official wind shift. Public stations (airports and municipalities) report both variable wind arc information and wind shifts but only when they deem it significant. However, personal weather stations added using the WindTrack Network can be configured to always supply it.

For Current conditions, we provide the exact time of the reading. In general, the observation occurs in the 15 minutes prior to that exact time. Who else gives you that kind of accuracy? The base wind speed is the highest sustained wind for 1 full minute through that 15 minutes,.. the gust, "G", portion is the instantaneous peak during that same period. Peak Wind is the peak instantaneous gust during the past hour. Units can be given in Knots/Celsius or Mph/Fahrenheit

Now, if you are in a weather savy part of the world (US, Canada, etc), most public stations provide an good amount of detail regarding wind over the next 16-24 hours. As you can see here, between noon and 4pm the wind will shift right 40 degrees and increase in velocity. Go right! When transitions occur abruptly, they also provide a transition period usually less than an hour.

Note that all functionality is available on all devices regardless of screen size. I am providing examples here only to
demonstrate functionality. WindTrack, as written, will work on most phones with a J2ME runtime and Internet access. For a list of Tested phones,
go here.
These two screen captures show the notification capability. You can identify when to receive notifications in terms of time of day and day of week (you wouldn't want to have your cell phone buzzing you in the middle of the night), and how often you want the condition checked. If the wind is above your desired threshold, you're phone will get emailed.
